Our Story
In 2014, we had our 7th child and were bursting out of our 3 bedroom ranch. We decided to move and found a home with double the square footage. Just months after settling in, the Lord moved in my heart...
"This house isn't just for your family." I thought (actually cried) "But God, my hands are FULL. How can I handle anything else?" And in a still, small way the Lord pressed upon my heart that this house was going to be a place of ministry. A place where others could find love and hope. And while my current situation felt overwhelming, I knew I needed to tap into God's strength knowing HE will strengthen and provide.
Having heard of orphan hosting, spring came and I looked over the photo listing. I thought 5 weeks of summer. We could do this. Picture after picture I viewed, reading bios and wondering, "What if these were my children? Would someone care for them? ALL THESE CHILDREN, they need homes, they need families!!! And so, we chose "E" and he came and we grew to love him dearly.
He is not a perfect child (as none of my children are) but he longs for a family. At Christmas he began to share, in simple English, his story. And this summer, even more English and thus more stories. And so, when a little boy looks at you and speaks in his sweet European accent, asking if you will adopt him? No didn't even feel like an option. Actually, my heart cried "YES".
He may live half way around the world, but to me, he is my son.
And Lord willing, we will bring him HOME.
